Josh Neille

Josh Neille, known to his followers as The Wombat Guy, is a registered wildlife carer based on a hobby farm in Gippsland, regional Victoria. An electrician by trade, Josh rescues, rehabilitates and releases native Australian animals, with a particular devotion to wombats, alongside his wife Amber and daughter Ashlee.

What began as a handful of backyard rescues has grown into a full wildlife rehabilitation property, with soft-release enclosures, dedicated care rooms and a purpose-built animal hospital. Josh has built a following of more than 3.4 million people across social media through his warmth, larrikin humour and genuine care for every creature that lands in his hands. He won the ‘For Good’ award at the 2025 TikTok awards ceremony, is the subject of the upcoming online documentary series The Wombat Guy, and author of the memoir Growing Up Wombat.
