Gary Jubelin

Former Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin is one of Australia’s most decorated and respected homicide detectives. Over the course of an extraordinary 34-year career, he was instrumental in solving some of the nation’s most high-profile, complex, and horrific crimes.

Gary earned widespread recognition and commendations for his service, having worked across the Armed Hold-Up Squad, Organised Crime Squad, Gangs Squad, Unsolved Homicide, and Homicide Squad. He spent 25 years specialising in homicide investigations, retiring in 2019 with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector.

Since leaving the force, Gary has become a leading voice in the media, creating and hosting I Catch Killers, one of Australia’s most successful podcasts. Produced in partnership with NewsCorp Australia, the show has become one of the highest-rating and most downloaded podcasts in the company’s history, recently surpassing 40 million downloads.

He is also a best-selling, award-winning author with two acclaimed books published by HarperCollins: I Catch Killers and Badness. Gary has contributed to major media platforms including The Sunday Telegraph and 60 Minutes on the Nine Network.

In 2023, he launched a groundbreaking new investigative podcast, Breaking Badness. With exclusive access to Macquarie Correctional Centre, one of New South Wales’ most controversial prisons, Gary became the first person in Australian history to take audiences inside a maximum-security prison in this way.

Gary is also a highly sought-after keynote speaker and is currently working on his third book, set to be released in early 2027.
